Coolest Technology

Post what you believe is the coolest technology you have ever seen or experienced. Explain why you think it is so good.

  1. The coolest technology that I have experienced would be the Dartfish program technology that we used in Net/Wall. I think this program is cool because it was able to take such a short amount of video time and break it down into multiple frames that could be analyzed in great detail. There were so many calculations that it could complete in seconds that would take days to figure out without the program.

  2. The coolest technology that I've seen is Blippar. It is used for advertising. But all you do is use the Blippar app to scan Blippar supported images and they come to life on your device. It is really amazing to see a simple image begin to move and become interactive.

  3. The coolest technology that I have experienced is the app called Coaches Eye. This app is only $4.99 to have all of the features available. There is a free version available with limited abilities. This technology allows you to instantly record and analyze video right on a mobile device. You can also compare two different performances on a split screen. Coaches eye also has slow-motion and drawing tools available. I use this app all the time with the swimmers of all ages I coach. It has proven to be very effective.

  4. I think that any kind of medical technology is amazing. The fact that a piece of equipment/technology like an AED can save someone's life or imaging like x-rays, MRIs, and other scans can be used to diagnose problems before they become life threatening is fascinating to me!

  5. I believe the coolest technology we can use is all of it that actually benefits the students. If a school district has all the technology in the world but doesn't use it then it doesnt serve a purpose. If a school can only afford pedometers and they keep track and use them, then thats way cooler than a district having d2l, dartfish, etc and not using it. I really enjoy using ipads in class as well as porojectors and visual aids to help demonstrate through the students visual learning on how something is done.

  6. In my opinion, there is a lot of cool technology out there at the moment and probably a lot that I don't know of. The coolest technology that I have experienced is FaceTime. FaceTime makes calling people who are abroad a whole lot easier. While I am here in the US, I can call home for free and best of all, I am able to see who I am calling and they can see me too. It is quick, easy and most importantly a free app!!

  7. I think Apps in general are the Coolest Technology. However, I really like the American Red Cross Apps, especially the Water Safety App. This App provides water safety tips, helps with swim lessons, gives step-by-step instructions for what to do during an emergency, has quizzes to test your knowledge of safety guidelines for different swimming environments, can create a profile for each Learn-To-Swim student to track their progress, and it has a kids section for children to learn the Whale Tales. This is a fantastic App for families, Instructors, and Facilities. This App is also...FREE!

  8. This is pretty generic but something that I've recently found to impress me are the scanners on phones for bar codes and QR codes. I never would think that something like that would actually work. To me its a bunch of lines and black blotches but to physically be able to translate what it means and bring it up on my phone was something neat to see. I know that the computers in stores do it but its just not the same when you can do it from home laying in bed scanning the cover of your book or something like that. Definitely the coolest technology I've discovered recently.

  9. The coolest technology is Dragon Diction. I really like how it can take words to text. It amazes me to be able to talk to my phone and have it write what I am saying. It is so convenient in my everyday life and in my hopefully future profession. You can make notes with ease on things as simple as groceries you need to buy or make comments on students skill performances.

  10. The coolest technology according to me, is the app "mapmyrun". I like to use this to keep track of my runs and bicycle rides. It enables me to track my average pace, total distance, and look at my split times. It even can prompt me as a run with my split times so that I know if I need to slow down or speed up depending on my goals. For these reasons and the fact that I use it so frequently is why I choose this app as the "coolest technology".

  11. The coolest technology to me would be my Google chrome book. Originally when I got it I thought that I would have to take it back because I did not know how to do my assignments on it since I could not have Microsoft Office on it. What I was doing was typing my assignments in Google Docs, copy and pasting them to an email, and then going to a school computer to put it in Microsoft Word. Taking this class helped me realize how Google Drive works, and now I love my chrome book and honestly wouldn't trade it for any other computer.

  12. The coolest technology I have used would have to be google earth. Simply for the fact that you can zoom in, view neighborhoods, see the actual street, trees, yards, houses, and so much more. It is so crazy to think that we can put all of that into an application. Not only do we have access to it, but it is up to date and relevant to where we live. The graphics in google earth are very eye appealing. Overall, I think google earth is very cool and beneficial. There are a lot of other technology tools I think are amazing, just like Kelli said, AED's, X-Ray machines, any medical technology.

  13. I believe the coolest technology is the 3d printers they have now, Common, everyday printers are still impressive as is, but to truly create things is unbelieveable. I just saw a post about linking up sonograms with a 3d printer and it created a 3d model of the fetus while it is still in the womb. The fact that this technology is out there and exists is unbelieveable. It makes me wonder how advanced technology will become in just a few years time.
